It is our job to educate students about being safe and responsible online
When using any form of digital communication, there are guidelines that students need to understand and follow. Many students engage in unsafe and irresponsible activities while online.

- Unsafe disclosure of personal info many do not understand what they post is public, potentially permanent, and accessible by anyone in the world
- Addiction many spend excessive amount of time online - having an "unplug" time is appropriate
- Risky Sexual Behavior seduced by sexual predator or child pornographer, posting sexually suggestive material , connecting with other teens for sexual "hook-ups"
- Cyberbullying being cruel to others by sending or posting harmful material online or through cell phone, or by engaging in other cruel actions
- Model being a responsible, respectful digital citizen
- Help students use social media/tools to build a positive, personal portfolio for their future

- Report behavior and get help
- Know what to do (do not respond, retaliate, or forward any harassing, intimidating, or bullying content)
- Block, remove, or de-friend people who send inappropriate content
- Understand the Fine Print and Other Rules
