My lab is a special class for the students like art, PE, library, etc.. Right now students are pulled in and out for tutoring. However, I try and do activities with the students such as: typing, physics games, math, reading eggs, myon, and other websites I find along the way. We explored the ocean a few weeks ago with a team of scientists on the ocean floor through a website called: http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/okeanos/welcome.html This created some good discussion.
I teach cyberbullying and internet safety as a unit. This is always interesting to talk with the students about. It really makes them think and ask questions about the topics.
It makes it hard because so many students are pulled for other things, but I try to make the best of it. I try to find websites that game based yet enriched with learning. The kids dig these and think they are playing games. :)
