SCSD1 believes that all learn differently and technology can enhance the learning experience. We will implement and integrate technology to facilitate learning so that students have the knowledge and skills to be productive in our global society.
Mission
SCSD1 prepares 21st century learners by effectively integrating technology as a tool to enhance and transform the learning process and carry out these purposes:

Our theme STEP UP is a very straightforward approach to digital age teaching and meeting the needs of our students.

PLANNING - Set goals to integrate technology throughout the district
USING - Use the technology to enhance the learning environment
PROVIDING - Provide a platform for student success in our global society
We teach in an increasingly fast-paced digital society. Technology integration should enhance the classroom environment and support curricular goals. Administrators and teachers must become digital age professionals and co-learners with their students and colleagues from around the world.
Technology Pilot Programs
2014-2015
During the summer of 2014, faculty from Scott County School District 1 attended Summer of eLearning 'Digipalooza' at SCSD2. In the fall of 2014, teachers were trained on My Big Campus and their device.
All elementary school staff were provided with an iPad
All middle school staff were provided with an iPad
All high school staff were provided with a MacBook Air
In the fall, teachers were trained on My Big Campus, basic training of their device, and will continue to be trained through ongoing PD with TIS and Five-Star Technology.
Fall 2014 Plans
Back to School Night Booth – Inform Parents/Guardians of initiative and answer questions and get input.
Fall Device Orientation Meetings before Receiving Device - These meetings are planned to share educational information, responsibility guidelines, and information about technology initiative that will impact their lives and the students’ lives. There is also a chance to field questions and get input.
3rd iPad 4 – Approximately 100 students each having an iPad – Funded by Common School Loan and Capital Project Funds
6th iPad 4 - Approximately 100 students each having an iPad – Funded by Common School Loan and Capital Project Funds
9th MacBook Air - Approximately 100 students each having an MacBook Air – Funded by Common School Loan and Capital Project Funds
