SCSD1 believes that all learn differently and technology can enhance the learning experience. We will implement and integrate technology to facilitate learning so that students have the knowledge and skills to be productive in our global society.

Mission

SCSD1 prepares 21st century learners by effectively integrating technology as a tool to enhance and transform the learning process and carry out these purposes:

  • To ensure access to up-to-date info
  • To create learning opportunities beyond the classroom
  • To enable students and teachers to connect and collaborate with the global community
  • To build communities and partnerships with families, businesses, and community members
  • To provide an equitable learning environment to foster academic achievement

Primary Goals
Increase student engagement
Increase student achievement
Increase individualized opportunities for students
Increase 21st century skill development for students
Decrease the digital divide that exists in our student body

Our theme STEP UP is a very straightforward approach to digital age teaching and meeting the needs of our students.
START - Create a plan and begin to move in the right direction

TECHNOLOGY - Provide students with up-to-date technology & device

EDUCATION - Provide students with up-to-date information

PLANNING - Set goals to integrate technology throughout the district

USING - Use the technology to enhance the learning environment

PROVIDING - Provide a platform for student success in our global society

We teach in an increasingly fast-paced digital society.  Technology integration should enhance the classroom environment and support curricular goals.  Administrators and teachers must become digital age professionals and co-learners with their students and colleagues from around the world.
